This year packet pick-up has been extended again to include a downtown Des Moines packet pick-up on Wednesday and Thursday in addition to the regular packet pick-up at the event site in Waukee.

Camping in Waukee’s Centennial Park (opens at 5pm Friday thru Sunday morning) Tent camping or RV/Bus camping is free for registered riders. Free showers will be available on Saturday from 4pm-8pm at Waukee Middle School
FRIDAY NIGHT PRE-PARTY IN WAUKEE
BACoon RIDE 4 Pre-Party will be in Waukee’s Centennial Park from 5pm-11pm. BACooN Sizzles Waukee is the Friday Night Pre-Party that will get you into the groove and ready to ride the BACooN RIDE 4 the next day! “BACooN Sizzles Waukee” will kick off a weekend full of bacon and bikes. All bacon lovers are invited and those who attend the party on Friday night will enjoy great live bands. Mouth-watering bacon delicacies from a host of vendors and a beer garden with a variety of local and national brews will be a part of the festivities.
The Fishheads are the Official Band Of Summer! With a mix of Island, Rock, Funk & Reggae all wrapped up in a crazy spontaneous atmosphere (You never know what’s going to happen next!) and 22 years of experience, The Fishheads are the Ultimate Island Party Band!!! What a way to start the BACooN Weekend!

On Saturday morning, Gusto Pizza Co. will provide riders with an extra boost of protein with a BACON Chorizo Burrito. These are house-made BACON & pork chorizo, scrambled eggs and queso blanco wrapped in a flour tortilla with choice of local Tres Mentes hot or mild salsa!
Gusto will be serving these before you start your ride in Centennial Park from 6:00-10:00 a.m. The City of Waukee has played a special part since the inaugural BACooN RIDE with Centennial Park as home base for the BACooN Rides with camping, entertainment and parking available to registered riders. Bacon lovers will enjoy plenty of fun activities and bacon to make them feel right at home.

This BACON Stop will feature the BACON Corn Dog from Berkwood Farms prepared by Lucas Concessions at the Shelter, This has been perhaps the most popular food item of the BACON stop s in the past.
Just One More will be serving 20 oz. vodka lemonades for $3 and stuffed bacon wrapped hot dogs for $3 and they will have $3 cheeseburgers and $2 brats. Just One More will have a full line of liquor and beer available.
ToJos will be serving pulled pork sandwiches for purchase and serving COLD beer! They’ll have Massage Therapy and Healing in Jamaica giving massages.

In the shadow of Adel’s historic courthouse, located on 909 Main Street, is the Rendezvouz Lounge. Known by bicyclists for its popular Wednesday Steak Night and its Bike Team Ceiling Hall of Fame, the “Vous” will be welcoming riders with vodka lemonade station and cold tall boys in the beer garden.
Kue’d Smokehouse BBQ will provide Memphis style pulled pork sliders for registered riders. (chicken sliders, pork ribs by the bone and BBQ nachos will also be available for purchase as well to all)
With a full bar inside and a large patio outside, there’s lots of space to enjoy your drinks and food. Super 8 will be rocking classic tunes throughout the event to keep you entertained.

We will have Kokopelli providing SAG service free of charge to registered (wristband) riders who are broken down mechanically or physically. SAG will stop at designated areas near the food stop and bike shop in towns at the time of service closure. Please remember SAG is not “on call” service. Riders with non-traditional bike frames (tandems and trike recumbents) may need to consider alternate plans for bike transport. You cannot call the number to request a ride. When the SAG is full, they will return to the start in Waukee. SAG cannot pickup riders on the trail. If you have an emergency, call 911.
