Ride the Bacoon Ride Presented by Veridian Credit Union on June 18

Like to ride Bicycles?  Like Bacon? Like the Raccoon River Valley Trail? Put it all together and you have the world-famous BACooN RIDE presented by Veridian Credit Union starting and ending in Waukee.  Enjoy a 71-mile on the scenic Raccoon River Valley Trail featuring bacon specialty foods along the way.

 The BACooN RIDE registration includes:

  • Numerous BACON stops featuring BACON snacks and samples throughout the day.
  • A commemorative PassPORK (punch card for your BACON treats!)
  • Awesome drink specials at numerous BACON party stops (including BACON-themed drinks)
  • Custom BACooN RIDE T-shirt
  • Commemorative BACooN RIDE coozie

This year’s ride will have a new starting point – the Waukee Northwest High School and Kinship Brewery. The Bacoon Ride presented by Veridian Credit Union will travel counter-clockwise towards Dallas Center. The route will continue around the loop and return from Adel to Waukee. (Times that route is open for Bacon Stops & Services) 

  • Waukee (6 am – 9 am start)
  • Dallas Center (7 am – 11 am)
  • Minburn (7:30 am – Noon)
  • Perry (8 am – 1 pm)
  • Dawson (8 am – 1:30 pm)
  • Jamaica (9 am – 2:30 pm)
  • Herndon (9 am – 3 pm)
  • Yale (9 am – 3:30 pm)
  • Panora (10 am – 4 pm)
  • Linden (10 am – 5 pm)
  • Redfield (11 am – 6 pm)
  • Adel (Noon – 6 pm)
  • Waukee (2 pm – 8 pm)

Mickey’s Irish Pub in Waukee is the official Finish Line Post Party for Bacoon! 

Your last bacon stop on your Passpork, will be featuring Amy’s Peanut Butter Bacon Cookies!  
We will be serving up Cold Beer Tallboys and Smirnoff Vodka Cocktails!! 
Bags and games will be around for fun.
We are featuring two live bands:
4-7pm Brad Siedenfeld (Outside Stage),
7-11 Fahrenheit (Inside Stage)! 
We have plenty of parking and Mickey’s is just one block south of the RRVT!

COVID-19 Guidance

The Bacoon Ride is following the advice of the Iowa Department of Public Health, CDC, and local health departments as we make plans for the events. Future messages will be sure to keep you up-to-date on what the safety protocols will be.


Here are the directions you need to get to Waukee Northwest High School (655 N 10th St, Waukee, IA 50263):

From Interstate 80:

  • Take exit 118 onto Grand Prairie Parkway
  • Travel north to the intersection of Grand Prairie Parkway and Hwy 6/Hickman Road
  • Turn Left and head west to 10th Street
  • Turn right at the Waukee Northwest High School
  • Packet Pickup will be at Kinship Brewery on Friday (255 NW Sunrise Dr, Waukee, IA 50263)
  • PLEASE NOTE: There is no day-of-event parking at Kinship Brewery. Park at the Waukee Northwest High School

From Interstate 80/35:

  • Take exit 125 onto Hwy 6/Hickman Road
  • Head west on Hwy 6/Hickman Road
  • Turn Left and head west to 10th Street
  • Turn right at the Waukee Northwest High School
