The City of Waukee will play a special part in the inaugural BACooN RIDE with Centennial Park as home base for the 2014 ride with camping, entertainment and parking available to registered riders. Bacon lovers will enjoy plenty of fun activities and bacon to make them feel right at home.
Friday, June 27
- Camping in Centennial Park Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 for registered riders
- Friday night beverage garden at Centennial Park from 5:00-11:00 p.m. with live band “The Swing Crew” from 7:00-11:00 p.m.
- Peace Tree Brewery will be on hand with “Ranger Games” in the beverage garden, along with attendees’ choice of a host of other brews including Miller, Coors, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, New Belgium and more
- A series of photo opportunities with people-sized pig cut-outs will be available on the beverage garden “red carpet”
- The team from Star 102.5 will be on hand to keep the fun going from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
- Food vendors will keep your mouth watering with delicious food from Hotel Pattee, Hy-Vee, Brewer Family Farms, Local Yocals and Honey Badger BBQ
Saturday, June 27
- Camping in Centennial Park Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 for registered riders
- Saturday morning breakfast at Centennial Park from 6:00-10:00 a.m. featuring a bacon and egg breakfast taco from the Iowa Egg Council and the Waukee Fire Department, with coffee and juice provided by the Waukee Downtown Triangle businesses
- Country station NASH FM 97.3 will host music, games, prizes and giveaways from 7:00-9:00 a.m. at Centennial Park
- A Saturday night “after party” hosted by Mickey’s Irish Pub Waukee in Mickey’s parking lot featuring band, “Lesson 7” and “Monkey Monkey Monkey” from 5:30-midnight.
- Guru Barbecue, local Yokels and bacon wrapped hot dogs for food.
- A shuttle will transport campers from Centennial Park to Mickey’s and back throughout the evening.
